YouTube Channel Suspension Appeal Template

How to Appeal YouTube Channel Suspension/Termination

Many people ask, what should be put in the form when when filling out an appeal to get back your youtube channel?

The best answer is that it all depends.  The reason for each person's youtube account getting suspended is different for everyone and the appeal text would need to be different depending on reason why your specific channel was suspended.

The good news however, is that there are common points that should be mentioned by everyone trying to appeal their youtube account suspension.  Here are same samples of youtube channel suspension appeal text.

SAMPLE #1

My channel named [channel name here] was suspended on [date channel was suspended] however, it has always followed the YouTube terms of service.  I believe that there must have been a mistake, I would please request you review my channel once again.  I am sure that I haven't broken any rules or guidelines, but, if there is any video that leads to the violation of YouTube policy I request you to delete that video.   I would however sincerely request you please give me my channel back and I assure you that it won't happen again.

Thank you for your time and kind consideration

Sincerely
[your name here]

YouTube Channel Suspended? How to get it back

Question: What is the difference between a suspended YouTube channel and a terminated YouTube channel?

Answer:  Although in the real world, you would think that there is a difference between a suspended YouTube account vs a terminated YouTube channel, however, in YouTube's eyes both mean the same thing.  If a YouTube account is suspend, then it is effectively considered to be terminated as well.

This however is not permanent as you can submit an appeal to have your YouTube re-activated.  It is very important to note however, you on only appeal a suspended YouTube channel once.  The decision that is determined by the YouTube appeal team is final and you cannot appeal a second time.  The decision can go either of two (2) ways, either they turn over the decision and give you back access to your channel and allow you to continuing possessing and using your YouTube account, or they uphold the channel suspension/termination.  At that point however, you are not allowed to make a new YouTube channel, access or use another other channel to get around your account termination.

YouTube channel suspension/terminations are different from channel deletions.  A channel deletion means that the data of a specific channel has been deleted and the channel cannot be re-activated.  This generally has to be requested by the user and not YouTube.

Question: Why did my channel get suspended?

The exact reasons YouTube suspends channels is never specifically given.  In most cases, the site has a robust algorithm that automatically looks for specific conditions it has been programmed to look for out for by the YouTube engineers, and when these conditions are detected, the channel that is in violation is automatically flagged and suspended.

Question: What should I say in my appeal to YouTube?

When submitting an appeal, the following sample appeal template can be used as a guideline for attempting to get your channel re-activated with YouTube.

Don't be in a rush to send in an appeal.  It is better to take some time and think of anything that you could've possible done to cause your channel to have been suspended.  If you go over all possible reasons you might have been suspended in your head and nothing can seem to explain it, then it may just have been an error on the part of YouTube and its automated algorithm.

When you think you are ready to re-apply however, you will need use the link below:

Question: What to do if your suspension appeal is rejected?

YouTube Channel Suspension Appeal Rejection E-Mail Response

Sadly if your suspension appeal is rejected by the YouTube Team, there is nothing further you are able to do at this point in time.

In the past, Google allowed anyone who had been suspended to send in multiple suspension appeals but as of January 2017, they changed the process to a one time only application process.  If you appeal and get rejected... that's it.

Unfair, yes but we have to be mindful that Google and by extension YouTube are private companies and they are free to create and enforce their own rules as they see fit.

YouTube Demonetizing "Meditation", "Stock Footage" & "White Noise" Channels

Recently, over a dozen meditation, ASMR, stock footage and white noise channels have had their entire channels demonetized for "duplication".

What does "duplication" mean?  According to the YouTube Partner Program rules, duplication is not allowed.

They classify "duplication" as
- Audiovisual works like TV shows and movies
- Sound recordings and musical compositions
- Visual and written works, including paintings, posters, articles and books
- Dramatic works such as plays and musicals
- Video games and computer software

How to become monetized again on YouTube

If your YouTube monetization was disable, this is how they advise you re-apply for monetization:

"If you want to re-enter the program, you should start by going to the monetization page to read more about the policy your channel violated. Then review your videos against our YouTube Partner Program policies and our Community Guidelines. The next step is to edit or delete any videos that violate our policies.

In 30 days you’ll see the option to reapply on the monetization page. If you reapply, our review team will carefully look over your content again. We will email you to let you know as soon as the process is complete (it may take up to several weeks). You can also check the status of your application on the monetization page.

Note that as mentioned in the Partnership Program Terms, the YouTube Terms of Service continue to apply to your use of the YouTube service even though your Partnership Program Terms are terminated."

Your channel is no longer eligible to monetize. What this means for your channel?

If YouTube removes your monetization for any reason, you will recieve an email saying "Your channel is no longer eligible to monetize".

If you get this message, what does this means for your channel:

According to the YouTube rules you still have access to most other creator features, and can:
Upload videos
Edit or delete your videos
Communicate with your audience

You however cannot:

Monetize new or existing videos (hence, you have been demonetized)

Receive AdSense payments for past YouTube revenue - This rule is not set in stone however, if you are demonetized after the date of payment finalization in Adsense (typically the between the 11th to 15th of each) you will still recieve your previous month's payment as usual.

Earn revenue from YouTube Red, Sponsorships or Super Chat

Contact the YouTube Creator Support team - For some reason this restriction can take up to 48 hours to take effect.  Even after losing monetization, some creators have been able to contact creator support both via chat and email for a short period of time after being demonetized.

There is no change to how your videos are promoted in our search and recommendation systems.

YouTube Channel Monetization Disabled, Why?

Question:
What does this mean? Why is my channel is currently ineligible for monetisation?

Answer:
According to YouTube, "during a recent review, our team of policy specialists carefully looked over the videos you’ve uploaded to your channel Sandboxten and found that they are not in line with our YouTube Partner Program policies. As of today, your channel is not eligible to monetize and you will not have access to monetization tools and features. Please go to your monetization page to read more about the specific policy our specialists flagged.

We have a responsibility to ensure our community is safe for creators, viewers and advertisers, which means sometimes making difficult decisions like this one. At the same time, we understand that everyone makes mistakes. That’s why you’ll be able to reapply for the YouTube Partner Program in 30 days. If you make changes to your channel you may be able to get your monetization features back."

This basically means that based on the rules of the new YPP (YouTube Partner Program), after channel reviewers working for YouTube manually reviewed your channel, they have made a decision that your channel does not comply with one of YouTube's rules.  Unfortunately, YouTube is not the best at being transparent and providing exact information on why exactly your monetization was disabled or which of your videos specifically do not comply with the rules.

If your monetization is disabled, you will see the following message on your monetization page in your creator studio, under your channel tab.
